Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. The SA330 is my latest, it was finished by february or march 2008. The tiger "camo" was airbrushed copying pictures on the net, the white lettering is Archer transfers.

Unfortunately my job leaves very little time for modeling,this is why I take quite a long while to build models.

I just had a glance at your gallery, well your models are nice too you know ! I especially liked the picture of your KV1M outside, looks good ! Carry on !

Hello Richard and welcome to the Finnish world of armour modelling.

First I admit being quilty for the Mallix article. And then some back ground info. There is no official camo scheme drawing existing anywhere. The only way is to study pictures. Some work is going on. Also there is a project with aim of producing decals for Finnish MAZ. Time schedule for this product is not in my hands.

My recommendation is to build the MAZ ready for painting and wait for the decals which will include the camo drawings.

Finnish camo color recipes mentioned in this conversation are also my doing. I wish to point out that these recipes produce a 1/1 scale shade! They need to be lightened for model scale effect.

And finally: Ps 850-x = MAZ, Ps 860-x = the trailer

I have a question about the camo colors described :

Kristian, and Timo gave Dark green AN11, Light green AN22, Brown AN33, Black AN44.

As far as I noticed (I may be wrong) I cannot see any pics of any AFV in Finland with a 4 tone camo, I only saw 3 colors camo schemes (dark green, light green and black). So can you tell me what AFV is the brown used on ?

Hi,
the only vehicle that I remember having the 4 tone camo is the ItO 96 (Buk M1) SAM system.


The XA-360 (AMV) APC has brown but it seems to be only a 3 tone camo.


Leopards and CV9030's have the usual 3 tone black-dark green-light green camo.

Pulling out of my memory: one Leopard 2, Mine clearing Leo 2, Bridge layer Leo 2, Buk, AMV, Trucks, etc.

MAZ and BMP-1s were in AN 11, AN 22 and AN 44 (no brown).

Welcome Richard! Your planes are very impressive! My favourite of them is Heinkel He-111. I don't know anything of these tanks because I am airplane modeller. Put some pictures to gallery please. :)
